Archos Platinum tablets announced

Archos has announced its new Platinum series of Android tablets.
The new line consists of 3 tablets: Archos 80 Platinum, Archos 97 Platinum HD and the Archos 116 Platinum.
All three share the same specs including:
  • High-Definition IPS display with capacitive multi-touch screen
  • QUAD core CPU at 1.2 GHz with 8-core GPU, with 1080p video decoding
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Full access to the 700,000 applications
  • Archos Media Center applications
  • Front and Back Cameras
  • Mini-HDMI and Micro SD ports
The only difference is the screen size and resolution.
The Archos 80 Platinum has an 8-inch display with resolution of 1024x768 pixels and will hit the market this month for $199.
The Archos 97 Platinum HD features a 9.7-inch (2048x1536 resolution) IPS screen and will also be available in February for $299.
The Archos 116 Platinum has an 11.6-inch full HD (1,920x1,080) IPS touchscreen and it will be available in April and will cost $349.



The company introduced the Archos 80 and the Archos 97 at CES earlier this year and for the first time the Archos 116 will be showcased at the upcoming CeBIT 2013 in Hannover at the beginning of March.
