This study was done on 1,929 traditional device customers who have owned their current phone less than one year. The study was fielded between February and August 2013. The study measures customer satisfaction in four factors: performance (29%); ease of operation (26%); physical design (24%); and features (21%). You can check out the full report here.
While this study did not include smartphone users, it still will play a huge role in future smartphone purchases. In general, customers tend to stick with the same brand rather than risk a new one if they are happy with their current brand of device. A feature phone user who trusts Brand A is more likely to buy a Brand A product when it comes time to upgrade to a smartphone.
What does all this mean? It means that the smartphone mobile landscape is unlikely to change anytime in the near future with Samsung dominating Android and Nokia (soon to be Microsoft) dominating Windows Phone.
