Starting a couple of weeks back there were rumors flying everywhere that the Samsung Galaxy S IV would be launched on March 14th and now it seems the rumors are true! Confirmed by Samsung themselves. They will take the wraps off of this device at Samsung Unpacked which is to take place on March 14th in New York City.
Samsung Electronics' mobile division chief JK Shin had this to say:
"We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)... as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,"
Rumored specs:
- 4.99-inch FULL HD Display
- 1.9GHz Quad-Core CPU
- 2GB RAM
- 13MP rear-facing camera
- 2MP front-facing camera
- Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean
This is pretty much what you would expect Samsung to bring to the table. Perhaps the only surprise spec wise is the 13mp camera. There was an outside shoot that Samsung was going to bring an octo-core processor to the party but that looks like it will not happen now. Anyone waiting to upgrade until this device comes out?
