The official Twitter app for Windows Phone has always left a lot to be desired to say the least. It was hard to use with not so many features so much so that most users opted for another client like Rowi or Medoh instead. Now Twitter aims to change that with a refresh of it's official Twitter client.
Some of the major changes include four tabs at the top — Home, Connect, Discover, and Me. This updated app acts a lot like the web version of Twitter. Using the Home tab you can do all the things you would expect: view tweets, expand tweets, views photos, etc...
The Connect tab is what I like to call your "@" tab. This will allow you see retweets, new followers, and mentions. The Discover and Me tab act exactly like the full fledged site version of the app.
You can also compose a tweet or search from anywhere within the app using the new icon buttons in the Application Bar. It comes with live tiles to pin Twitter accounts, lists, and searches to your start screen. The new live tile feature seems pretty handy for keeping up to date.
It is now available in the Windows Phone store I just downloaded this updated app on my phone however it is yet to be seen if it's good enough to replace Rowi on my device. Time will tell.
