AT&T 4G LTE launches in more markets, LTE Advanced primed for later this year

AT&T has announced the immediate availability of 4G LTE in 26 new markets today, bringing its coverage to 270 million people, which is 86 percent of the current population in the United States. The carrier revealed the news today as part of an announcement that it has reached its goal of covering most of the US population. The carrier still has farther to go to spread to more areas of the country, but most of its possible consumers now have access to LTE because it is widely available in densely populated areas.
Furthermore, AT&T confirmed that it has plans for LTE Advanced and HD Voice to debut later this year.AT&T originally wanted to launch LTE Advanced last year but delayed plans. When the enhanced network goes live, compatible devices like the ASUS Padfone X will be able to access speeds on several frequencies, increasing download speeds and coverage areas. More information about the advantages and drawbacks of LTE Advance is available here.
